GlycoBase

Glycobase is a unique relational database, which contains the experimental HPLC elution positions for 2-aminobenzamidelabeled (2AB) N-glycans expressed in the form of ‘glucose unit values’ (GU-value) together with predicted products of exoglycosidase digestions.

Currently the Glycobase framework consists of two modules:

  • GlycoBase 2. The first version of the database contains published experimental HPLC data for more than 380 N-glycans. The interface was designed within a Research Infrastructure Design Study funded by the 6th Research Framework Program of the European Union (Contract: RIDS Contract number 011952). The database is free-of-charge for academic users and does not require a user account.

  • GlycoBase 3. An extended version of GlycoBase 2 which also includes experimental data for O-linked glycans as well as additional data on N-linked glycans. A revised feature for substructural filtering allows the user to quickly narrow the list of available structures related to a specific glycoprotein/tissue.

GlycoExtractor

GlycoExtractor is a tool that assists the user in the automatic extraction of experimental HPLC data for multiple samples from a commercial database to a variety of open standardised file formats (XML, CSV, HTML & JSON), which are compatible with various analytical software for further analysis. This tool is intended to form the basis of new data interchange resources for HPLC-glycan technologies, for example, the development of centralized databases, tools, data collection.
